Cozy Up in These Frisco Coffee Shops

You don’t have to like coffee to like coffee shops. There are several great cafes nearby that serve not only delicious coffee, but also teas, smoothies, and light meals. Plan a meet up with a friend at one of these locally owned cafes in Frisco.

Mochas and Javas

The original Mochas and Javas opened in San Marcos and was so successful that owner Kevin Carswell opened a few more. In August 2017, he decided to open one in Frisco. Luckily, the Frisco location is only a five-minute drive from The Maxwell. There are plenty of tables inside, so you can connect to the free wifi and study or get some work done while you enjoy your order. The covered outdoor patio has comfortable chairs perfect for sitting and catching up with a friend or reading a good book.

The coffee is roasted in our great state of Texas, but despite the name, you’ll find more than coffee here. Mochas and Javas also serves tea, smoothies, and custom frozen drinks. The food is delectable, too. Try the quiche, a sandwich, or a salad. They also have bakery items such as zucchini bread, muffins, kolaches, and croissants. On Sundays, they are open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., but any other day of the week you can stop in between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m.

Summer Moon

Right around the corner from The Maxwell, in downtown Frisco, Summer Moon is an adorable coffee shop that serves wood-fired coffee. From the exposed brick walls to the mason jar light fixtures, Summer Moon screams “Instagram me!” The helpful baristas will explain what their signature “Moon Milk” is and make sure your drink is perfect. Non-coffee drinkers can enjoy hot chocolate, chai lattes, or even frozen lemonade.

Light bites such as muffins, wraps, and cinnamon rolls are mouthwatering. The tasty breakfast tacos are available until 10 a.m. or until they are sold out. There is a small outdoor seating area and dogs are welcome. You can experience Summer Moon weekdays between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. On weekends, they open at 7 a.m.

Also located on Main Street in Frisco, Nerdvana has a very unique vibe. It’s not just a place you want to grab your drink and get out; fans of Nerdvana love to hang out there. The coffee menu isn’t overwhelming, the sipping chocolate is fantastic, and the paninis are yummy. The decor is cool and the board games are begging you to play them. You’ll definitely want to check this place out with friends.

You can stop by Nerdvana between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and on weekends starting at 8 a.m.
